Zuzana Dostalova has been member of the Prague National Theatre’s ballet ensemble for many years (she performed as a dancer until the age of 45; she appeared, for instance, in Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, in the Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky, and in Giselle by Adam). She also worked as a teacher at the Dance Conservatory in Prague (where she specialized in classical ballet) for twenty three years. Nowadays, she is the head of the Dance Department at V. Talich’s Basic School of Art in Beroun. As a teacher, she has concentrated on historical Renaissance dances and she has attended many seminars both in the Czech Republic and abroad. She designs choreographic aspects of historical dances and works with members of many groups who present historical dances. She regularly holds seminars at a dance school in Hannover, Germany.
