Tomáš Syrovátka first met with Ján Ďurovčík during his work on the musicals Painted on Glass and The Full Monty (the Czech first night) at the Šalda Theatre in Liberec. Tomáš Syrovátka has worked as a dramatic advisor since 2002. He took part, among other productions, in staging the following dramas: Terrace, A Night of Orgies in Nesles Tower, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Together with the entire production team, he was awarded the “Max” award from the Prague Theatrical Festival of the German Language for the Czech first night of the play Arabian Night directed by M. Tichý. Tomáš has also been preparing several adaptations at his home theatre – currently it presents Three Men in a Boat that he also adapted for the theatre together with director J. Macečko. Tomáš took part in the foundation of a cycle of stage readings in Liberec (the first presentation of Gavran’s George Washington’s Loves in the Czech Republic) and of the theatrical bimonthly magazine “Xaver”. He publishes professional and critical texts in the magazines “Svět a divadlo” (World and Theatre), “Divadelní revue” (Theatre Revue), etc. My Country is his first professional encounter with ballet.
