Tomáš Juhás

Tenor Tomáš Juhás made his debut at the Slovak National Theatre Opera in 2002. During the consequent years, he became a noticeable artist at the opera and concert stages in Slovakia and abroad (e.g. Opéra National de Paris, Teatro Real Madrid). His signature roles are: Nemorino (Donizetti: L’elisir d’amore), Malcolm and Alfredo (Verdi: Macbeth, La traviata), Rodolfo (Puccini: La bohème), Lensky (Tchaikovski: Eugene Onegin), Boris (Janáček: Katya Kabanová), etc. He sang the role of Jeník at the concert version of Smetana’s Bartered Bride at Barbican Hall in London in 2011 under the baton of Jiří Bělohlávek. Tomáš Juhás performed in concerts is Netherlands, Switzerland, Vienna and Tokyo. He took place at the recording of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Chihiro Hayashi (Slovart Records).

The Prague State Opera – Theatre History in Pictures and Dates

The Prague State Opera in cooperation with the Slovart publishing house publishes a representative book tracking the history of this significant cultural institution since its opening in 1888 till the end of the 2002/2003 season. The publication called The Prague State Opera – Theatre History in Pictures and Dates is focusing solely on the opera featured at the scene, even though the theatre under various names also served to presentation of drama plays, operettas and ballet. The Prague State opera plans to publish the volumes concentrating on those genres in the next years.
