Lucie Fišer Silkenová was born in Prague. She was a member of the KühnChildren’s Choir and then studied opera singing and piano obbligato at Prague’s Jan Neruda Gymnasium, focused on musical education. After seven years’ co-operation with Ivan Kusnjer, soloist of the National Theatre in Prague and pedagogue, she graduated from the Academy of Music in Prague (2010). She has also honed her vocal technique at master classes in England, Spain, Germany and Austria.
Lucie Fišer Silkenová has received accolades at several international voice competitions, the most important of which are: first prize at the Concours International d’Encouragement Musical international competition, Lyon 2008, organised by the Rotary Club; and second prize at the 44th Antonín Dvořák International Vocal Competition, Karlovy Vary 2009 together with theatre awards (National Theatre Prague, Prague State Opera, State Theatre in Košice, Slovakia).
She has already enacted numerous opera roles. First, minor roles such as Barberina (Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro), the Turnspit (Dvořák: Rusalka), First Lady, Papagena (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte), etc., and then such major roles as Corilla (Donizetti: Viva la Mamma), Lisa (Lehár: The Land of Smiles), Cleopatra (Handel: Julius Caesar), Rosina (Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia), Pamina (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte).
She has performed at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Pilsen and co-operated with the Prague Chamber Opera (concert tours in Japan, Germany and Switzerland). She has made several records for Navora Records and ArcoDiva. In the 2009/10 season she made her debut at the National Theatre in Prague and she is a guest in many productions of this season. In the 2010/11 season she has been invited to co-operate with the Prague State Opera and the State Theatre in Košice (Slovakia), too.
