Laurent Peduzzi

The stage designer and creative artist Laurent Peduzzi was born in France. He is credited with numerous dramatic productions (e.g. The Lady of the Camellias, Marseilles 1989; Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Paris 1990; Faust, Paris 1992; The Imaginary Invalid, Belfort 1992) and operas (incl. Don Giovanni, Aix-en-Provence 1987; Tales of Hoffmann, Nantes 1989; Orfeo ed Euridice, Strasbourg 1990; The Marriage of Figaro, Lausanne 1994; Idomeneo, Lyon 1999; The Rape of Lucretia, Paris 2008). In the area of dance theatre, he collaborates with the important French dancer and choreographer, Catherine Diverrès. As a visual artist, he is also involved with film projects. Of artistic importance was, for example, his collaboration on the French film The Red Orchestra (directed by Jacques Rouffio, 1988) with Claude Brasseur in the leading role.

The Prague State Opera – Theatre History in Pictures and Dates

The Prague State Opera in cooperation with the Slovart publishing house publishes a representative book tracking the history of this significant cultural institution since its opening in 1888 till the end of the 2002/2003 season. The publication called The Prague State Opera – Theatre History in Pictures and Dates is focusing solely on the opera featured at the scene, even though the theatre under various names also served to presentation of drama plays, operettas and ballet. The Prague State opera plans to publish the volumes concentrating on those genres in the next years.
