Katerina Štefková was born in 1971 in Prague and studied stage design at the Academy of Performing Arts. Since 1995 she has been a regular costume designer in theatre Na Zábradlí and with stage director Petr Lébl she had cooperated on all his productions. Among the stage directors she regularly cooperates with are Jiri Pokorny (M. Ravenhill: Faust is dead, 2000; J.–P. Carriere: The Terrace, 2000; E. Tobias: Stranger, 1995; J. L. Fast: Walachian Quadrille, 1993; G. Preissova: Jenufa, 1992), J. A. Pitínský (F. Schiller: Kabale und Liebe, 2000; J. Krist, S. Otcenasek, J. A. Pitinsky: Magical Hill, 1997) and Petr Tyc (A. Pärt: Sara had been Ninety, The little I know of Sylphids, 2000). With director Alice Nellis she cooperated on films Ene Bene and The Trip. She exhibited at the Prague Quadrienale 1999 in the Czech Exposition which was awarded the Golden prize. In 2001 she exhibited at Novi Sad Trienale.
